I loved the walk along the Drive. I had no idea how long it was. I had no idea how interesting it was. It was great to hear the stories about the people who live there. I hope I do this walk again. I’m sure I will.
Hearing what has already taken place and seeing photographs of the project so far, was inspiring; meeting local people and fellow artists likewise. People are truly fascinating!
The question ‘who is my neighbour’ has lingered with me since. It is powerful. I find myself thinking about it no matter where I am, and I find myself performing small acts of neighbourliness! I am really looking forward to being there over an intense period of time and to meeting people in person. Perhaps I should live in the neighbourhood. It’s a good thought.
In the meantime I shall proudly wear my ‘I’M ON ALBERT DRIVE’ badge! Oh, and I bought a box of sweeties at Shandar Sweets on my way to the station. I only had £3.40 in my purse, and I got exactly £3.40 worth of sweeties. It was huge (and brilliant).
