Project Co-ordinator/Filmmaker

As Project Co-ordinator, I worked as part of the ALBERT DRIVE Project team from October 2012 to October 2013, supporting all of the artists throughout their residencies and helping to bring the project alive on the drive (and beyond).

My role spanned many creative, production, marketing and technical aspects of the project including the artists residencies, final Event Weekend, Symposium and website.

Originally an Art School graduate, with a background in film and television production, prior to Albert Drive I worked (and continue to work) primarily managing, producing and directing film projects as well as teaching and mentoring new filmmakers, including at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

As an award-winning filmmaker (including BAFTA Scotland and BAFTA New Talent awards for short and feature films) with a unique insight into and overview of the project, I was also invited to create a documentary of the ALBERT DRIVE Project.

Filmed over eight months, this feature-length film explores the process of and shares insights into the artists working on ALBERT DRIVE.

ALBERT DRIVE was a great project to work on as I had just moved to the Southside of Glasgow in September 2012 and it felt like a perfect opportunity to get to know the local community here in an immediate and creative way.

I have loved getting to know the artists on the project and the cross-disciplinary nature of their work as a team collaborating together. It’s been a unique and exciting experience – a first for Albert Drive and for me at the same time.  I have enjoyed being part of the growth of a project that has reached so many parts of the community in so many different ways.
